About The Author & Artist |

Jonathan grew up in Marin County, California, and now lives in Berkeley near the Cal campus. He spends much of his free time surfing from Ireland to the North Shore of Oahu, where he recently fell in love with big wave tow-in surfing. He started the California Surf Club at the University of California at Berkeley. Upon graduating, in December 2004, he co-founded a nonprofit organization that works with young people to develop conflict resolution, character building, and leadership skills. He has spoken to more than 7,000 kids at schools across California, Hawaii, and South Africa.
Jonathan and Robert have been friends for more than seventeen years. They played on many of the same sports teams growing up and had planned to go to the beach together on the day of Jonathan’s attack in August 1998.
Robert has always excelled in art and attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, in Georgia. His artistic genius continues to gain local and national attention. You can see his work at the annual Italian Street Painting Festival in San Rafael, California. |
